Lucky for me I was able to get the surgery. However, the doctor in my opinion was not interested in really taking care of the issue. Of course, maybe it's not fair for me to say because I am not a physician; all that was removed was the breast bud which is directly under the nipple. He did not remove any of the surrounding material or mass.

Sometimes Docs will divvy up the procedure into that which is specifically removal of breast tissue vs. liposuction / sculpting of the area.

Also, there is a risk of having prolapsed nipple if too much tissue it taken out, so some Docs leave some tissue in place to prevent that from happening. (B/c of this, some guys will diet down as much as possible to leave only breast tissue in place so the surgeon has a black n' white target for tissue excision.)
