Because of significant lower back issues and associated pain, I’m unable to do regular squats due to the spinal compression it causes. Belt squats have been an absolute game-changer and I use this machine frequently for a variety of exercises.
My gym has this version:
301 Moved
I wanted to use belt squats for Muscle Rounds, however, I’ve found it impossible to have a true deload in between sets. It takes too long to take the belt off and back on again in 10 seconds. So, I can either stand at the top with the tension/weight still bearing down or I can fully squat until the belt disengages from my hip, but in both cases, my legs are not getting a true deload.
My question is whether it is okay to not fully deload/rest during the muscle round or should I just leave these for loading and pump sets.
Thanks in advance!
