Pre exhaust
#1
Scott (and others) what's your thoughts and opinion on the old pre exhaust system and could it fit into say the pump section of a workout effectively??

Reason I ask is that I went to a gym today that had a load of original nautilus duo machines now some felt awful duo shoulder the press motion was awful but some like the duo chest and lat pull really hit the target muscle.

So thoughts.

I might be missing a bit of the nuance of what you're asking, but yes, For sure, you could use to use a pre-exhaustion exercise order with Pump sets.

Those duo machines are great. One of the gyms where I go (N. Powerhouse) has two of the Nautilus Delt machines. Smile

Ironically - no lie here - I did this today with chest and back:

1st Superset:
Chest: Nautilus Incline Pec fly (5's into the hole)
Back: Nautilus pullover (5's into the hole)

2nd Super set:
Hoist Cable peck fly (not a compound exercise, but I need to stick with chest Isolation as I tend to be a delt presser) - Reverse 21's
Hoist Pulldown - Reverse 21's

They had the incline fly as well. 3 machines actually with various degrees. It was almost like being goldilocks finding the just right degree ha ha.
As I said some of the machines just weird but the duo chest and a very strange duo lat machine that you start as best described as a reverse lateral raise then upon failure reach forward to a lat pulldown really felt good.

I may look at implementing just for a change.
