Help Help! Advice for taking an early cruise?!?

Hi guys!! So I need some help/advice!
I just started week 5 of my first blast and things are going great! Literally I feel like it's the best progress I've made in any of the programs I've done..
...one problem though - I've come down with a horrible case of gastro - and although I can still train, the stomach cramps won't let me train with the intensity I know FT deserves.
Should I still push through and just do what I can?? I hate doing things half assed - the body won't adapt and grow if u don't give it a reason to I've always believed (and not pushing the body to the extreme during training is not giving it that reason)
I was thinking - would it be beneficial then to start my cruise early, relax and heal up for the remaining week and a bit - then start hard and heavy again once the gut is better?? I'm just getting frustrated because it's now my second Rest day in a row and I just want to get out there and kill my leg loading, but being severely dehydrated ect might make that impossible.
How would you guys handle the situation? Would progress be severely altered by not training for this amount of time??

Rest. So not only are you going to be able to perform at the gym, but your not only going to be able to absorb any food afterwards. No worries your progress and muscle is not going anywhere.
It's the nature of this life style to sort of live and die by our routines, but life very often does not give one shit about your routine. All you can ever do in those situations is relax, figure out an acceptable and healthy plan, and move forward. Worrying about this obsessively I have found for myself to do more harm than good. Rest and heal. The gainz will be waiting for you

Thanks Altamir! Yeah I've decided to give it all a break because literally nothing is getting absorbed!
Yeah Scott - it's either really bad food poisoning or I might have major gut dysbiosis - either way the stomach cramps and pains are worse than a pump set....and let's just say no food is being absorbed haha [emoji23][emoji23]
It's a pain, down 2kg in a couple days and feeling weak as - but what can u do might have to do a month of Keto to try and re-establish some good gut flora and fix my digestive system!

I'm doing a month of keto to help weed,seed then feed the gut again. When there's bacterial overgrowth, which can be established either from tests or symptoms. (I did a test last year which determined a dysbiosis of gut bacteria) I've found that with a lot of my patients (mind you none of them are bodybuilders-just gen pop) removing all carbs, which are the primary food source for bacteria, starving out all the bacteria (good and bad) while simultaneously planting seeds of good bacteria is the best option to re-establish a healthy microbiome. Hopefully all inflamation will go down, the gut wall will be repaired and nutrient partitioning will be optimized. It'll be taking one step backwards and 2 forward in terms of muscle building.
Realistically at this stage, trying to keep pushing carbs is useless because my gi tract isn't absorbing them and I'm feeling that even small amounts are causing issues (fermentation and gas)
I have no idea what the cause could be though it's just frustrating!! I didn't address the issue properly last year and now I'm paying for it again

So, if you don't know the cause, why are you treating it as if there is a symbiosis?...
By now, of course, a food poisoning would have passed.
You seem to be very particular with your diet, and this is an acute onset (from what I can tell), so with a carefully controlled food intake I'd not expect a dysbiosis unless maybe you literally got a bacterial infection (or took some antibiotics, for example).
Do your symptoms match the time when you had a symbiosis (I'm presuming diagnosed from a stool sample)?...
I'm not saying that having a healthy gut microbiome isn't helpful, but it seems like you don't know whats wrong, but are treating as if you do.

well the symptoms are indicative of malabsorption and typical gut dysbiosis - the gut problems haven't been acute, only the food poisoning which I think effects me more because my gut is in such a fragile and unhealthy state. (thank god that's past though so I can at least train again haha!! )
I actually went further and had an OATS on top of the CDSA stool sample test to get a complete breakdown of my system, which showed a severe gut dysbiosis and the symptoms are very similar to last year which is.
I agree its hard to get a gut dysbiosis to begin with, but even with the cleanest diet in the world - dormant bacteria on the gut wall can be 're-activated' and flourish so to speak, and this is aggravated by periods of very high carbs (which is something ive been doing for the past 4 months). - and this is all because I'm assuming I didn't clear out the bacterial imbalance effectively last year.
I have pretty effective protocols I use for all my patients in any times of gut distress - its not necessarily blindly treating, but rather applying a broad gut health protocol for a month and assessing whether improvements occur.
I use a lot of TCM in my gut protocol, I know your also a practitioner in TCM Scott - do you recommend anything in particular??

I've looked into it fairly extensively and I think it might be related to my spleen qi (from what I can gather from my symptoms its a deficiency). I'm starting by reducing a lot of the cold foods from my diet and supplementing with astragalus. Do you have any recommendations of other minerals I can take? I'm a practicioner of the following brand and thought this might be an excellent addition to my protocol.
