FT Questions....

Scott
Just a quick question ,I'm not running Ft atm
I'm push pull split , v low volume , I suppose close to DC
Any way iv pushed kals pretty high , close to 5000
Now iv Kept cardio in a 4x week 35 mins
I'm struggling to eat tbh lol but the scales haven't moved to much in the last 2 weeks
So would you look to drop cardio here before adding more food if your struggling to eat , iv no problem adding more food , just like to get diffrent opinions

I can't give you a particularly good answer without knowing more (and it's not really appropriate for this thread or even the board, really, as your'e asking me to coach you knowing really very little).
Firstly - are you struggling to eat more food or not?... You've "got no problem adding more food" but you're "struggling to eat."
It's tough to solve an ill-defined problem.

Sorry for the confusion ,
So what I ment was , I am slightly struggling to eat , but I'd still push food more if I really had to.
I was just wondering in general , what your views were on either keeping energy levels higher and pushing calories , or lowering Energy expenditure , as that essentially could be a way to increase calories .

Hey Bud,
Feel free just to start a new thread in a diff. forum if you like.
I'm for minimal cardio and as much weight training as one can recover from.
The issue here is that you are (apparently, if your program is like DC) doing a weight training regime that may be low in terms of energy expenditure, work done, EPOC, etc, which would mean doing some cardio.
I've got a two part article on cardio in the off-season which you can find linked here (with my other articles). That pretty much covers my thoughts on most angles on this topic.

I'm soon to go back to FT , I just feel in my current situation a more DCish Approach has me gaining and keeping my Strenght .

Yeah , I was in a way ,
Not so much in the sessions as such I added in a separate arm day , but that soon stopped cos of slight tendinitis
I played a bit with volume in FT but if I'm being Honest I prefer basic tier 2 I feel if I really go for it , anything above tire 2 I just burn out to quick
And I think after my sint with what I'm currently doing training wise , it's so low volume and think going to tier 1 basic will be more than enogh for me once I start FT again .

Scott (also happy to hear anyone else's opinion),
Curious what your feelings / ideas are on adding different rep techniques to the Muscle Round system? For example, I've got really limited hamstring equipment at my gym (one machine basically). I did differently dumbbell hamstring curls (flat, incline, gironda style) for a time, but it got to the point where the weight I was able to move by my hamstrings was limited by my calves / feet keeping a firm grip on the DB. Felt like I was short changing the amount hamstring involvement. I made some changes to my programming to add in RDL in for hamstrings, but that still left me with a lot of MRs for hamstrings to fill. So I ended up one week doing 1½ reps for the MR set, just to get a different stimulus in there. It honestly felt like a combo of a pump set and a MR. It certainly throws off the 1:1 work rest ratio, and obviously lightened the load. Am I committing FT heresy here? Was just something thrown in for variety's sake, but I also thought it could be a good thing once and awhile one weaker body parts that have a bad mind muscle connection. (I am thinking biceps and triceps for myself, which just don't like to activate properly, miles better than where they were, but miles from where I'd like to be) Just want to make sure I'm not missing a bigger picture somewhere with this.
